Biri Islands- Island of the Seven Rock Formation

Located 45 minutes off the northwestern tip of Samar Island, Biri Island is part of the 18-piece Balicuatro Group of Islands that speck the perilous space between San Bernardino Strait and the Pacific Ocean, and Samar and Luzon.

Blessed with natural beauty and amazing rock formations, the island itself is well know for the 7 rock formations; Magasang, Magsapad, Macadlaw, Puhunan, Pinanahawan, Bel-at and Caranas.

How to get here?

  1. If you’re coming from Manila, take a bus to Clark and then fly to Catarman, Northern Samar.
  2. From the airport, take a tricycle to the main terminal.
  3. Ride a jeepney bound for Lavezares.
  4. Find a boat that goes to Biri Town.
  5. From Biri jetty, take a habal-habal to your hotel or guesthouse.

 Places to Visit

The 7 Rock Formations on the islands is Biri's main tourist attraction. Make sure to enjoy the habal habal rides while strolling around the island.

 Where to stay

Personally, I always tend to find a place to stay when I get to the area than booking in advance. Based on my experience I can find a much cheaper rate and more options available.

Overall, visiting Biri will always be an experience to remember, the sunrise and the sunset is out of this world.
